The main focus of our group is on the chemistry and biophysics of membrane proteins systems, especially nanopores. We are engineering, modifying and redesigning these protein systems for applications in NanoBioTechnology and Single-Molecule Biophysics.

We are using biological nanopores in:

  • Single-enzyme kinetics and folding studies
  • Applications in single-molecule DNA sequencing
  • Nanofluidic approaches for smart drug delivery
  • Integrated devices for single-molecule characterization
