This page contains several possibilities
to get to our lab, which is located in the chemistry building "200F"
on the campus "Arenberg III". This campus is located at the ring of
Leuven, ca. 2,5km from the city center.
By plane
You will probably arrive at the
Brussels National Airport
(BRU). This
airport is ca. 15km from the centre of
Brussels, about 30km from Leuven and connected by a highway and
train service running 4 times an hour (weekends less).
By train
The easiest way to get from the
airport to our lab is by using the local train of
the
Belgian rail way. The railway station is located at
the lower floor of the airport terminal and you can buy your train
ticket there (about 5,00€ to Leuven, one way). Each hour, there are
two direct trains to Leuven. The trip lasts about 15 minutes.
By bus (from the railway station)
Within Leuven bus no.2 (direction
"Campus") will take you from various places(including station)
to the Arenberg campus. Time tables can be found
here. Tickets (price +/- 1 €)
are sold by the bus drivers (travel time station -> "Campus" ca. 20
minutes. "Campus" is the final bus stop. The chemistry
department (Block F) is located in the back of the campus, a few
minutes walking from the bus stop. As alternative
you can take a taxi (Leuven station) to the campus(ca. 10
minutes, price +/- 20 €)
By car
Coming from Brussels
/ Liège E40: leave the E40 highway at exit 22 direction "E314
(A2) - Hasselt - Aachen - Leuven", keep driving on the right side
and follow the signpost "Leuven" (then leave the E314 highway at
exit 15).
Coming from Hasselt /
Eindhoven / Aachen on the E314 (A2) : leave at exit 15 "Leuven"
You are now on the
"Koning Boudewijnlaan". Turn to the right at the second traffic
lights (direction "Campus Arenberg). You are
on the "Celestijnenlaan". Take the second street on the right (250m
from the traffic light). You are on the "Kapeldreef".
You will see the campus on your left side (grey buildings).
Continue this road until the it turns to the left. The building on
the left side of the road is the "Chemistry" department. (Block F).
You can leave your car in the parking, next to block F.
