Accommodation and Tourist Information

Accommodation

The number of available hotel rooms in Leuven is limited, and many congresses are taking place at the same time, so we advise everyone to book as soon as possible. Most hotels are within walking distance (10-15 min) of the Sencie Institute. There are three possibilities :

1. We have taken an option on a number of rooms in the following hotels. Please book for yourself and mention that you are a participant of the 2nd ICSST (reduced price) :

3. There are a number of inexpensive single rooms available in student quarters, not earlier than the night of Saturday 9 September and not later than the night of 13 September (checkout in the morning of 14 September). The conference starts only on 10 September but we booked part of the rooms from Saturday 9 September to allow Apex flight tickets. Of course you can arrive on 10 September or later, as it suits you. People who want to arrive earlier or stay longer should find their own accommodation (see hotel info on the website, to appear soon). The rooms have hotel service (fresh linen every day) and breakfast will be served in a nearby university restaurant. The price is 1000 BEF (25 euro) per night and per person.
If you want to take advantage of this third possibility (and only in this case) please send the following info to the email address of Dr M. A. Abramov, who is in charge of accommodation (abramov@chem.kuleuven.ac.be)
-the name(s) of the person(s) that want(s) accommodation
-the nights accommodation is required

The money for the accommodation should arrive to the conference account strictly before the end of July 2000.
This should be done by giro transfer in Euro on account nr. 431-0370001-13, KBC Bank, Ladeuzeplein 15, B-3000 Leuven, Belgium with mentioning the reference GPW-PATEI2-P3610, the name of the participant(s) and the word "accommodation".
The accommodation costs mentioned above are exclusive bank transfer costs. Bank transfer costs should be paid by the participant.

Recommended restaurants

All the cited restaurants are within walking distance from the Mgr. Sencie institute. Reservation is highly recommended for the first two categories. The price indication is relative and should be considered only as a guide. An accurate price list is usually visible from outside the restaurant. It is not necessary to give tips in Belgium as prices include service, but if you do so, it will be appreciated.
