Chemical Waste Class 6: Small Chemical Waste

Target Waste	This class combines solid waste and waste liquids with a quantity of less than 1 liter per month, requiring small recipients (5 liters or less). The HSE Department does not supply adequate containers for these low volumes.
Not Allowed	Waste canisters larger than 5 liters of Classes 1 to 5. Small Hazardous Office Waste (KGA) (adhesive and glue residues, batteries, typing correctors,...) Mercury and mercury-containing waste Asbestos (Always keep separate!) Syringes (See Hazardous Biological Waste) Light bulbs and lamps Cyanides Gas cylinders and lecture bottles Concentratred acids like HCl, H₂SO₄, HNO₃ (Class 1) Radio-active substances Explosives Biological contaminated waste Unidentified substances
Recipients	Barrel with lid of 30, 60 or 120 liters
Removal Procedure	Collect solid chemical waste and small amounts of special liquid chemical waste in plastic respectively glass recipients. Deposit all individual waste packages in the container. Make sure the recipients can withstand transport. Use chips or vermiculite if necessary. Prepare a detailed list of the contents of each barrel. Fit one copy firmly to the barrel. Submit another copy of this list to the HSE Department.
Notes	Always mark the barrels with the Unit Number. Every request for removal must be accompanied by a detailed list of the contents of the barrel.
